MARPORT MAIN CONTAINER TERMINAL MODIFICATION AND EXPANSION PROJECT
Ambarlı Port is situated in Yakuplu Village at Angurya farm area.
In 2001, Arkas Holding Group commissioned 2ER-CEI both for the assessment of existing situations of the superstructure and infrastructure systems of KUMPORT and ARMAPORT Wharfs, which are located in the Ambarlı Port Complex, in terms of static-steel and reinforced concrete, and for preparation and modification of the projects according to new load and calculation of the costs on the basis of budget, if necessary.
Within this context, the following works were carried out:

Bathymetric maps of the jetties were developed

Land/Sea drilling for the evaluation of carrying capacity of soil and to decide the dredging equipment

Concrete Samples from existing structures for testing chlorination and carbonation

Determination of Corrosive effects of the sea water on the pile wall thickness

Modification Drawings of the jetties in line with the load requirements of SSG Cranes

Bill of quantity preparation for Budgetary purposes
Following the completion of these studies and the submission of an advisory report, the decision to acquire ARMAPORT was concluded.
ARMAPORT Container Terminal Consultancy/Control Engineering Services
ARKAS Holding CO. Commissioned 2ER-CEI to carry out the Consultancy/Control Engineering Services for the extension and modification of the Armaport into a Container Terminal, within this context, Engineering, Consultancy, Contol Engineering Services were carried out for the following works:

Modification of the existing A1 and A2 jetties in line with the new Post Panamax Cranes and new earthquake regulations; joining of the pile driven supported beam Rails constructed recently to the existing structure with a chemical anchorages,

Joining of the existing A1 and A2 jetties on their outer ends by means of pile driven Jetty namely A5

Sea and Land filling up of the closed Area between A1, A2 and A5 jetties from a Mol for Container Stock Yard,

Construction of infrastructure systems (Waste Water, Rain Water, Fire Water, Potable Water and Electricity Services) for container stock yards and existing container stock area

Paving Works
Construction works are currently continuing and are due for completion in the first half of the year 2004.
