UND RO-RO OPERATIONAL CO. PENDİK RO-RO TERMINAL MODIFICATION & EXTENSION PROJECT DESIGN/PROJECT COORDINATION AND SUPERVISION WORKS
UND Ro-Ro Terminal is located along Kemikli River at the end of Pendik Shipyard, which belongs to Naval Forces, at Aydinli Bay inside the borders of Istanbul’s Pendik district.
In 2003, 2ER-CEI was commissioned by UND Ro-Ro Operational Co. for the following activities: planning of a Ro-Ro Terminal indicated in the enclosed plan, Master Layout Planning in the backyard for the construction of a maneuvering and parking area for Ro-Ro vessels, all the technical investigations and researches as part of Terminal planning, preparation of Implementation Projects, executing the technical negotiations in stage related with DLH approvals, preparing the tender documents for the activities in the tender phase after the approval, organizing the tender evaluation reports and submitting them to Contractor, coordinating the construction after the tender process and scientific & technical supervision of the construction works.
PLANNING & DESIGN STUDIES
1-) COLLECTION OF THE EXISTING DOCUMENT AND DATAS
a) Dimensional drawing confirming the leveled and coordinated existing situation.
b) Existing soil investigation and geotechnical report (if not has to be performed).
c) Existing jetties as built drawings and calculations.
d) Existing buildings, infrastructure, rain water drainage, sewerage and fire water system at the rear area.
e) Determination of the electrical, telephone and other utilities capacities.
f) Collection of the information regarding legal existing situation of the port and designation of the possession.
g) Approved layout plans by the Public Improvement Ministry and relation between neighbors.
2-) DETERMINATION OF THE MASTER LAYOUT PLAN PRINCIPLES
a) To be detailed operational fundamentals and principles with the UND
b) Operational plans
3-) ENGINEERING STUDY
a) Investigation of the domination wind, wave observation report and navigational study.
b) Ship Maneuvering and determining of the existing jetties according to dominant wind and wave.
c) Determining of the situation existing jetties (design calculation as per DLH and New Earthquake Instructions)
d) Backward fill soil investigation report and determining of the soil bearing capacity
e) Forming of the final port layout plan.
4-) DESIGN STUDY AND APPROVALS
a) Preparation of the modification and extension construction drawings and put forward for approval
b) Approval process
c) Preparation of the new jetty and Ro-Ro ramp construction drawings and put forward for approval
d) Approval process

a) Level regulation on the fill
b) Shore protection
c) Sub Structure (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical)
6-) CIVIL WORKS
a) Plan and sections of internal roads
b) Rainfall drainage system and discharge drawings
c) If it is required preparation of the sewerage revision drawings and adaptation of the existing sewerage system
7-) ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WORKS
a) Electrical distributing system
b) Pipe manhole electrical substructure
c) Road and field illuminating system
d) Grounding system
e) Lighting prevention system
f) Fire alarm system
g) Mechanical system drawings if requires
h) Electric supply system for refrigerator TIR’s if requires
8-) MECHANICAL SYSTEM DRAWINGS
a) Fire protection system

d) Determining of the demolished building, level arrangement of the new areas and adaptation of the substructure
e) Maintenance and modification of the existing buildings which will be kept as it is.
